A support group for people with Parkinson's Disease and their carers marks its 10th anniversary this year.

The Spalding and district group, which meets at Pinchbeck Village Hall, will hold an afternoon tea on Sunday, April 7, from 2-3.30pm to mark the event.

This also ties in with World Parkinson's Day on April 11.

They hope to raise awareness, both of the group, and of Parkinson's Disease.

Members normally meet every third Thursday at the village hall from 10.30am-midday and will hold their AGM on Thursday, February 21, at 11am.

The disease is described by Parkinson's UK as 'a progressive neurological condition, which means that it causes problems in the brain and gets worse over time.' Around 145,00 people in the UK are diagnosed with Parkinson's.
