Spalding area developers given go ahead to reduce affordable housing at Holbeach site

Builders of a new housing development in Holbeach have been given the go-ahead to reduce the percentage of affordable housing provided.

During a meeting of South Holland District Council’s planning committee on Wednesday, councillors heard alterations the developer, Ashwood Homes, was hoping to make to the Section 106 agreement as part of the development on Fen Road.

The 83 home development was due to provide 21 units of affordable housing, but the committee agreed to accept a reduced number of units in favour of a considerable sum of money to be put towards the NHS and education in the area.
