A16 re-opens after fatal collision
The A16 has been re-opened between Crowland and Newborough after an accident this morning (Friday, February 7) in which a male motorcyclist died.
As reported earlier today, the road was closed in both directions following a four-vehicle collision at 5.58am on the A16 at Newborough.
It involved a Honda motorcycle, a Peugeot Boxer, a Vauxhall Insignia and a Fiat Punto.
Another driver was taken to Peterborough City Hospital with minor injuries and a third driver has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drink or drugs.
Traffic was reported as queueing both ways between Peterborough Road South and B1443 Thorney Road early this morning as police closed the stretch of the A16 for investigations to take place.
A spokesperson for Cambridgeshire Police, which is investigating the incident, has just confirmed that the road was re-opened at around 3.30pm.
Anyone who witnessed the collision or the events leading up to it, or who has dashcam footage, is asked to call police on 101 quoting incident 65 of February 7.
