A16 overnight closures between Spalding and Crowland to continue for another week

Overnight closures on the A16 will be needed for an extra week - with bad weather blamed for the delay.

The road has been shut on week nights for the last couple of weeks for a 'complete road reconstruction' near Cowbit roundabout - and this work was due to finish on Friday.

However, the work is now scheduled to end on Friday October 15 instead.

A Lincolnshire County Council highways spokesman said: "We're sorry for any further inconvenience this delay might cause."

During the closures - which last between 8pm and 6am on week days - the road is shut between the Applegreen roundabout in Spalding and the James Road/Peterborough Road South roundabout in Crowland.
