PARENTS and friends of a school in Holbeach have launched a challenge to raise more than £3,000 for new play equipment.
The Friends of William Stukeley School are preparing to launch a series of fundraising events over the next academic year in the hope of buying something which can be used by all pupils.
Janice Smith, group chairman, said: “It’s going to be a challenge but I know that with the support of the parents/carers and pupils, along with the Holbeach community, that it is do-able and it would be great for everyone to see what their hard work and contribution has gained for the school.
“So far this year we have paid for reception and Years One and Two to go on school trips, and without the continued support of parents, carers and the pupils themselves we would not be able to fund these events.
“It’s all about providing for our children and the school.”
The Friends are continuing with their “Freeze Pop” Fridays and are planning several events including a Family Night Disco, a stall at the Holbeach Christmas Fair, making calendars using pictures drawn by the pupils of the school.
