Health teams have vaccinated 20,000 people in South Lincolnshire
A total of 20,000 people in South Lincolnshire have been vaccinated against coronavirus thanks to practice staff.
Clinical and clerical staff from 12 medical centres in South Holland, Bourne and Market Deeping have been pulling together to vaccinate patients at Springfields Exhibition and Event Centre in Spalding, in recent weeks.
Allied Health South Lincolnshire, which has helped to organise the vaccination centre, says it is hoped to move onto cohort 5, which is the 65 to 69-year-olds, shortly.
Unofficial reports heard by Spalding Today have reported that some people in the 65 to 69 age bracket have received their vaccination this weekend.
In a social media post Allied Health South Lincolnshire states: "Our amazing teams have continued to work all weekend, delivering from practices across South Lincolnshire, their dedication is amazing!
"We are on track to complete cohorts 1 - 4 ahead of the Government's target and hope to be able to move on to cohort 5 shortly.
"You may be invited to attend one of the 'Large Vaccination Centres' if you are in cohort 5, but you don't have to travel if you don't want to.
"We will be able to see you in Springfields or at your practice VERY soon, and will contact you directly.
"This week we'll pass 20,000 people vaccinated in South Lincolnshire, and we aren't going to stop until everyone has been looked after."
