Spalding is one of the top parking ticket hotspots in Lincolnshire.
£19,702 was netted from the Sheepmarket alone from 696 tickets issued. Thirty-four appeals were granted.
Countywide, Lincolnshire County Council netted £220,000 in penalties in a year from ten streets.
However, the authority insists the income is not profit and any surpluses are spent improving parking provision and environmental projects.
Richard Davies, executive councillor for Highways and Transport, said: “We’re projected to make a relatively small surplus of around £100,000 from parking enforcement. This can only be spent on schemes such as improving parking provision.”
