Pinchbeck chip shop owner Eric Fragale was filling up on fish and chips before his strict diet began 25 years ago.

Eric, who ran Captain Domenics on Church Street, was preparing to run the New York Marathon in November of 1997.

He was therefore hoping to lose a stone leading up to it - and is pictured enjoying his final bag of chips before starting on his training regime.
