Summer Sundae in Leicester

Have your say

Summer Sundae started out as a humble one-day affair in De Montfort Hall Gardens, Leicester, in 2001 but has now grown to be a highlight of the festival calendar.

And of all the major music festivals, it’s the closest to Lincolnshire and takes place on August 12,13 and 14.

With more than 100 acts performing on five stages over three days, from big-name headliners, well-established classic acts to new bands on the verge of hitting the big time, there’s something for everyone.

This year features Blur guitarist Graham Coxon, singer-songwriter Newton Faulkner, reggae legends Toots and the Maytals and boy band McFly.

There’s also live comedy, a film tent, silent disco, The Garden chill-out area with traditional seaside theme, top quality food and drink, quiet family campsites, craft and clothing stalls in The Village.

The acclaimed Kidzone will keep younger festival goers happy and with the location being in the City Centre it’s easily located with plenty of parking and a rarity for a festival – clean toilets!
