Penningtons staff in Spalding presented a cheque for £83.20 to Age Concern chairman Gerald Ilsley in 1993.

The money had been raised from a doll knitted by Mrs Nora Plummer, who owned Pingouin Wools Shop in Station Street, Spalding. Mrs Plummer planned to sell the doll, but Penningtons staff came up with the idea of using him as a raffle prize instead.
