Sing in the Summer

Have your say

FOLLOWING on from last year’s successful summer singing day, Spalding-based group Voiced Unplugged is staging a repeat performance on Saturday.

Led by the group’s highly experienced music director and composer Jane Wells, the fun and lively day at the Spalding Methodist Hall in Broad Street is designed for anyone interested in singing – even those who’ve never sung before.

Jane’s relaxed, informal and fun approach to teaching harmony songs from a mix of styles is open to newcomer and experienced adult female and male singers alike. “There is no need to be able to read music”, she says, “just bring your ears!”

In the afternoon, trombone player Richard Hall will be bringing his talents to the workshop to weave melodies into the songs. Participants can expect to tackle something short and simple composed by Jane alongside songs from pop, folk and jazz styles.

The day starts at 10.30am and finishes at 3pm. Tea and coffee will be available but a packed lunch is recommended. Tickets are £10 and are available in advance or on the day from the South Holland Centre box office on 01775 764777 or
