THERE’S still time for Spalding women to sign up for a moonlight stroll in aid of charity.
The annual Moonlight Walk in aid of St Barnabas Hospice will take place at Spalding’s Springfields Exhibition Centre from 9pm on Saturday, July 9, when hundreds of women will follow a safe and stewarded six-mile route.
The event will also feature live music and participants will receive a t-shirt and be treated to a bacon sandwich after their efforts.
The walk – strictly for ladies only – is an annual event which raises funds for the charity’s work in caring for more than 4,000 people a year, and their families, who are living with life-threatening illnesses.
Women are invited to dress up for the walk, if they choose, and a selection of items such as pink hats are available for sale on the night.
Vital support offered in Lincolnshire includes caring for people as in-patients, Hospice at Home, daycare and outpatient clinics, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and complementary therapy.
Fund-raising manager Kim Frow said: “The Moonlight Walk is a major part of St Barnabas’ fundraising year so its success has a direct impact on what we can do for local people.
“Our supporters’ time and effort in taking part makes a direct impact on what we can offer the county but it is also a chance for them to have a really good night out with friends.”
