NOSTALGIA: Memories of Long Sutton home linked with Dick Turpin

Reader Nigel Welbourn sent us these two photographs taken at Seagate House in Long Sutton, where rumour has it highwayman Dick Turpin possibly once spent some time.

Nigel's great grandfather Rufus Welbourn was born at the house in 1852 and also his grandfather Harry Welbourn in 1885.

The house was taken over by soldiers during World War II, after which it was demolished.

Nigel still has two stone acorns from a part of the house.
