NOSTALGIA: Pinchbeck football and Spalding skaters in 1996
Pinchbeck United reached the semi-finals of the Lincs FA Junior Cup 25 years ago this week by defeating Grantham League visitors Barrowby 2-1 in a scrappy encounter.
The Knights led 2-0 at the break through a Gary Harrison double but the dismissal of Fred Gent in the second half turned the tide in favour of Barrowby, but Pinchbeck held on.
However, they went on to lose the semi-final two weeks later, at home to holders Brumby Hotel, who eventually lost the final 1-0 to Moulton Harrox.

– Spalding youngsters got their dancing skates on 25 years ago ready to boogie the night away at a roller disco in the Castle Sports Complex.
Between 300 and 400 teenagers flocked to the event, which was being held every Saturday.
