How the Victorians lived at St John's School, Spalding

The Victorian era was brought was brought to life for Spalding youngsters at a special workshop.

Students in Year 1 at St John's Primary School learned all about how the Victorians lived and worked

Headteacher Paul Reid said: "The children have been looking at the Victorians in their work and we feel first-hand learning is the best kind.

"All 60 children, plus staff and parents, dressed up in Victorian costume and we managed to get a lot of artefacts from various places.

"We cleaned brass and silver with ash and learned how people washed their clothes."
