Holbeach cadets welcome new commander

A new Commander has joined the Holbeach Detachment of the Lincolnshire Army Cadet Force.

Sergeant Instructor (SI) Jonathan Harold has been appointed to the role following the transfer of his predecessor, Ben Atkinson, to 3 Company headquarters at Boston.

Sgt Harold was a member of the regular Army, serving 15 years in the 9th/12 Royal Lancers then The Royal Lancers regiment, having obtained the rank of sergeant. He joined Lincolnshire Cadet Force in January, joining as a Civilian Assistant until March when he obtained his previous rank of Sergeant.

He joins an active detachment focused on providing military skills, adventurous activities such as kayaking, abseiling and skiing in a fun and encouraging environment. They are also encouraged to take part in various sports and in the DoE award scheme.

The cadets, who have moved into new premises at Holbeach Hub where they meet on Tuesdays (7-9pm), obtain promotion based on the British Army Rank system and can obtain other qualifications, such as BTEC in Public Service and First Aid qualifications.
