Infant pupils from Deeping St James County Primary School made a splash at their first swimming gala in 1997.

Youngsters took part in a variety of fun events at Deepings Leisure Centre, including swimming through a hoop and pushing balls through the pool using their noses.

Learning support assistant Trish Midgley said: “It helps the childrens’ swimming and they just have an enjoyable time which I think is the main thing.”
