The Lavery children of Lutton Gate were continuing a tradition begun by their dad Bernard in 2004.

Bernard’s children Henry (6), Eva (5), twins Joan and Amy (4) and George (2) had produced one 500lb and two 300lb pumpkins. Their dad had scooped 25 Guinness World Records and 37 British records for his gigantic vegetables. An 86lb marrow earned the children a Blue Peter prize in 2003.
