Make a stunning wall hanging and bring the outdoors inside - by Flowers 'n' Things in Spalding

By Spalding Reporter

The team at the florists in Red Lion Street take us through the steps needed to make it yourself:

This month we’re going to show you how we created these quirky succulent wall hangings.

These are perfect for bringing nature into your home without the need for a surface to put a plant pot on. What’s more, these require absolutely no care because they’re artificial.

We’ve chosen to create a rustic succulent style heart, but you could use any silk flowers and additional decorations or even go one step further and use air plants.

To create our wall hanging we used artificial succulents, some bark, moss, a glue gun, and a wooden heart as a base.

Before you plug your glue gun in, it’s a good idea to have a play with different placements of your plants and decorations. You might want some succulents sat alone and others placed on top of a piece of bark and cushioned with some moss, for example.

It’s entirely up to you how you position your plants, you can make it as unique as you like. Once you’ve got a rough idea of where you will place things, it’s time to warm that glue gun up. Quickly, and carefully glue all your elements in place until you are satisfied with how your hanging looks.

We’ve added an extra dimension by popping little dabs of glue on the tips of the leaves to look like dewdrops. And there you have it, one beautiful wall hanging to help bring some greenery indoors with minimal effort!
