Classical music raised the roof at Gedney Parish Church 25 years ago.

Fleet and District Royal British Legion organised the concert, with Spalding’s Royal British Legion band and the George Farmer School Chamber Choir receiving plaudits from the crowd.

A range of songs were sang, with the Fleet group’s secretary Jack Richardson thrilled.

Donington youngster Adam Hilton was thrilled to meet two of his footballing heroes back in 1996.

He travelled to Nottingham Forest’s City Ground to collect a personalised autographed football from star players.

Adam’s parents, Peter and Sandra, had bought the football at an auction run by Donington junior football team Young Dons.

The club’s manager Willy Dawson (pictured) joined Adam at a Forest training session, where they met assistant manager Alan Hill.

Adam’s mum said: “He collected more autographs and souvenirs but above all returned home with memories of a day that he will remember forever.”
