Inside the South Holland Centre

Here at the South Holland Centre we are constantly working hard to make sure our programme and venue appeals to a wide range of ages and tastes – and while we’ve always considered the South Holland Centre to be a ‘family friendly zone’, we’ve recently been looking at how we can make family visits even more enjoyable.

As a result we’ve widened our live and participation programme for the whole family, as well as reviewing some of the practical things that can assist a stress free trip.

So if you are bringing your own tiny tots to a show or movie you may like to know that we have allocated areas for buggy parking and a limited number of booster seats to help them see over the taller people; the first floor café bar has high chairs and a reasonably priced children’s menu; there is ramped entrance to the building and lift access to all floors, including to the café bar level which has changing facilities; toilets also have step stools so little ones can reach the basins to wash their hands!

With all of the practical stuff taken care of, there’s nothing left but to enjoy some fun times as a family.

In addition to our regular programme of family movies like ‘Home’ and ‘Spongebob’, we hope you will join us for our second family fun day on Saturday, May 2 when a few hours of happiness will culminate with a screening of Mary Poppins at 3.30pm (the most popular family movie in our recent Facebook poll).

Earlier in the day, accompanied under-7s can join Act II to create a percussive soundtrack to movie clips at 11am, and then have a boogie at our ‘Top Of The Poppets’ disco at 1.30pm; whilst older children aged seven to 12 can have some ‘chimney sweep’ dance fun with Polka Dot Academy at 11am and then enjoy a ‘let’s go make a kite’ session with Creation Station at 1.30pm.

It’s a pick ‘n’ mix kind of a day, you can book individually for any session for just £3 each, or a child can come to both age relevant workshops and the Mary Poppins movie for just £7.50. Adults only pay for the movie £3. Some sessions have limited availability so early booking is recommended from our box office 01775 764777 or online www.southhollandcentre.co.uk
