YOUNGSTERS are being given the chance to learn performing arts thanks to new classes starting in January.
The award-winning Wildcats Theatre School, which currently teaches children in Stamford, Peterborough and Rutland, will offer students the chance to develop the three disciplines of singing, dance and drama through interactive, fun weekly lessons in Spalding.
Students will be able to gain professional qualifications and Wildcats has a 100 per cent pass rate at London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts (LAMDA) examinations with more than 500 LAMDA Musical Theatre awards being achieved by students.
Over the past year the school has grown immensely with new classes in Peterborough and Rutland and the development of close working partnerships with Pineapple Performing Arts School and The Cresset Theatre.
Wildcats students also have the opportunity to join, through audition, the West End Wildcats troupe which has performed in the West End and at a number of festivals.
The school also represents a number of children through its own casting agency – putting children forward for auditions for stage and screen.
The classes are suitable for three different age groups – Mini Wildcats for four to seven-year-olds, Junior Wildcats for eight to 11-year-olds and Senior Wildcats for 12 to 16-year-olds.
The classes will be held every Monday evening during term time at Spalding Grammar School and are open to children from all schools.
