Youngsters from Monkshouse Primary School, Spalding, were the stars of a nativity play for some of the town’s elderly residents.

The school’s nativity play with a difference, presenting events in Bethlehem from the animals’ perspective, thrilled more than 50 people at Sezanne Walk Community Hall.

Teaching assistant Kay Green said: “We have special links with Sezanne Walk residents in that we put on Christmas, Easter and harvest productions for them.

“But this was our first show in front of residents from Tanglewood Cedar Falls Nursing Home in Spalding who saw it as well.

“The residents loved it and they were given cakes baked by children who attended an afternoon cookery school.”
