The era of variety and vaudeville made a comeback in Spalding as the Vista Crew youth group put on a night of music and entertainment for the town.

Youth leaders and crew members turned St Nicolas Church Hall into an episode of The Good Old Days, with help from Spalding cover band The Boobonyx, burlesque group Company B Babes, rock and roller Pagan, magician Connor and singer Becky.

The event raised money for the British Heart Foundation and the Vista Crew which was relaunched four months ago with an all-day music festival in Spalding.

Cath Gibson, one of the group leaders, said: “The first-ever Vista Crew Cabaret was great fun, with brilliant acoustic sets from The Boobonyx, cheeky dancing from Company B Babes and an excellent cover of Muse from Becky.

“It was all finished off with a generous helping of rock and roll from Pagan, while Mr Chester Drawers compared the whole evening brilliantly.

“On behalf of everyone from the Vista Crew, I’d like to say a huge thanks to all the artists, the people who came down and all the volunteers for their support.”
