Reading glasses were essential at Spalding Library on Thursday when staff celebrated World Book Night by offering visitors a cup of tea or coffee and a free book to read.

World Book Night is run by The Reading Agency, a national charity that inspires people to become confident and enthusiastic readers.

Librarian Sharman Morris (pictured on the right with Amanda Reynolds) said: “We were given a set of books to give away for free as a gift to people, especially non-readers to get them to read again.”
