South Holland artists Angela Daymond and Carol Parker joined in the party mood at the windmill which was built in 1822 and was bought by the Friends of Moulton Mill in 2001, becoming one of the most popular tourist destinations in south Lincolnshire with about 20,000 visitors a year.

It’s such a special building and if we can share some of the enthusiasm of our volunteers with visitors, then they can take some of the magic of Moulton Mill away with them.

Janet Prescott BEM, manager of Moulton Mill

Mill manager Janet Prescott said: “It was just our way of saying ‘thank you’ to the public for their support for a hidden gem in Moulton.

“It’s such a special building but people don’t know whether they can visit us, even people who live here.

“So if we can share some of the enthusiasm of our volunteers with visitors, then they can take some of the magic of Moulton Mill away with them.”
