The Priory School, Spalding, served up a Highland treat to its students as it marked Burns Night weekend with its own version of “haggis, neeps and tatties.”

Most students ate haggis with mashed potatoes, carrots, swede and gravy, while vegetarians chose Scotch egg salad, with strawberry shortbread and cream for dessert.
Teacher Kate Isaacs said: “It’s an annual event at the school to widen out pupils’ eating and learning experiences and it was absolutely fantastic. “All the pupils who ate the haggis loved it and we even persuaded some of those who were reluctant at first to try it and they actually liked it as well.”
