Youngsters at Bicker Preparatory School and Early Years can look forward to story times in the garden after the opening of a new outdoor seating area.
Parents and teachers joined children for a short service in the school garden where principal Sheila Page and chairman of the school’s Parents’ Association Sarah Grundy officially opened the seating area in the garden.
The service included a song in Spanish from upper school pupils and a chance for them to use the area which was designed to fit in with the surrounding silver birch tress.
Upper school headteacher Wendy Bell said: “The new seated area is one of a number of projects that were completed over the summer months and is part of an ongoing plan to provide different areas for our children to enjoy the area outside our school.
“Other projects include places to climb and jump, as well as a new paved area for our raised beds where we can grown vegetables and flowers. “
“We are grateful to the Parents’ Association for providing part of the funding for the new area.”
