Spalding became a town for people who love life in the fast lane at the weekend as about 3,000 motorbike enthusiasts found plenty to enjoy here.

The annual Springfields Motorbike Show, now in its 30th year, brought riders, traders and bike fans to Springfields Events and Conference Centre on Saturday and Sunday.

At least 30 stands, displaying everything from vintage Harley Davidson, Norton and Triumph bike to motorcycle gear and accessories, filled the site.

Organiser Jason Lunn said: “We had a good weekend, with more bikes than ever.

“All our guests were really popular with visitors and the new things we tried this year went down well.”

Stars at the show included Kirton-based rider Ben Wilson, two-time Isle of Man TT winner Steve Plater and road racer Peter Hickman of Louth.

Graham Pickett of Nene and Welland BSA Classic Owners Club said: “We love the show because you see so many people who you would only see at a motorbike show.”

Meanwhile, Alex McCullen of Lincolnshire Road Safety Partnership said: “The weekend went well and most of the visitors were receptive to our message on motorbike safety.”
