Sutton St James Parish Church has a double cause for celebration with the success of this year’s flower festival and the arrival of a new sign.

Visitors from as far away as Frampton had a guided tour of the decorated church and took time to admire the new sign designed by Phil Newton of Sutton St James-based Double 7 Design.

Churchwarden Pauline Stebbings said: “The flower festival was brilliant and in total, we raised £1,800 for the church which were happy about.

“We thought it would be nice to get a new sign with donations left over from a graveyard fund named after my husband Michael who passed away in August 2011.

“The original sign was dilapidated and when we looking at putting up a new one, Phil was happy to do it for us.”
