ART from around South Holland will be showcased at a major exhibition in the New Year.
Contributions – in a variety of forms – are being invited from professional and amateur artists from the district with the displays being open to the public from February 29 until March 6.
Work will be shown in the function room at Spalding’s South Holland Centre and entries are now open from artists over 14, from all over Lincolnshire and a number of neighbouring districts.
Up to three pieces of work can be submitted per artist and these can be from a range of media – 3D, photography/digital, oil, pencil, pastel, watercolour, acrylic and gouache.
South Holland district councillor Nick Worth, Executive Member for Community Development, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for artists to showcase their work.
“Standards of work have been very high in the past, but this shouldn’t put off new artists and we look forward to seeing another array of excellent art. ”
The free-to-enter Open Arts exhibition has been running for 12 years and more than 200 pieces of work were submitted last year.
There are size restrictions on work and only originals can be accepted.
Pottery and ceramics are not eligible.
The closing date for entries is noon on Monday, January 30 and successful applicants will be notified by February 8.
l Application forms can be downloaded at www.sholland.gov.uk/leisure/artsdev or can be obtained from South Holland District Council offices.
