Spalding Lions Club celebrated its 44th anniversary of serving the community with an annual charter night for members and guests at the town’s South Holland Centre.
Current president Richard Briers welcomed colleagues and visitors, including Spalding and Welland Rotary Club president Melvyn Price, South Holland Rotary Club president Pat Luckett, past and current president from other Lions’ Clubs in the areas and guests from Germany.
More than 100 people came to the celebratory event where details of the causes supported by the club over the past year were revealed.
Former president of Spalding Lions, Eileen Robson, said: “It’s like a birthday party for the club that we have every year.
“There was a meal at the beginning, followed by a few speeches and formalities and then dancing to mark the annual anniversary of the club being formed.
“It was a lot of fun, everybody enjoyed themselves, the music was brilliant and we all had a wonderful night.”
