Weston Hills Primary School pupils added some new strings to their bows after taking part in a willow weaving workshop which ended up with them making a new den to use at playtimes.

The school hosted Rob Tily and Nick Williams of Living Willow, based near Wisbech, who led a workshop teaching children the basics of weaving using willow canes and the history of willow weaving in East Anglia.
Youngsters learnt how to strip willow canes before using them to make the den as a permanent reminder of the day.
School administrator Heather Pocklington said: “It was a fun, educational and rewarding day that the children thoroughly enjoyed and they were excited to see the results of their efforts with the den.”
