The impressive surroundings of Guanock House welcomed visitors for an open garden event for the British Red Cross in Lincolnshire.

More than 60 people came to the Grade II-listed manor house in Sutton St Edmund where about £300 was raised for the charity.

Head gardener Robin Parker said: “We had a raffle, cake stall and refreshments for visitors and the Red Cross volunteers seemed very pleased.

“There was a wonderful atmosphere, with a small group of ladies who played musical instruments, it was lovely to open up the garden to people who make a contribution to such a wonderful cause.”
