Students and staff at The Deepings School paid their respects to those who gave their lives for Queen and country on Remembrance Day.

A two-minute silence was observed at 11am on November 11 to remember servicemen and women who have lost their lives in wars and conflicts worldwide.

Students belonging to Air Training Corps, Army Cadet, Scout and Guide groups were allowed to wear their uniforms for the day and a school spokesman said: “It was lovely to see so many students looking so proudly resplendent in their uniforms.”

The occasion was also marked by sixth-form students selling poppies around the school during the first two weeks of November in a bid to support the cause. Photo supplied.
