Volunteers committed to making Holbeach one of the best kept towns of in Lincolnshire are inviting people to help them carry out their plans.
A new era for Holbeach in Bloom is set to begin on Wednesday when the group meets at Holbeach United Sports and Social Club, Carter’s Park, at 7pm.
The group plans to enter this year’s East Midlands in Bloom competition and is looking for help from volunteers and businesses interested in putting floral displays around the town.
Holbeach in Bloom chairman Graham Rudkin said: “Our aim is to get the town working as a community by going around and enhancing its appearance in areas like Stukeley Gardens, All Saints Churchyard, the cemetery and Carter’s Park.
“We believe these are jewels in Holbeach’s crown and we want to make it a better place to live in for everybody.
“At the moment, there’s only a hard core of about six volunteers and as chairman, I want to try and get more people to look after different areas of the town.”
“I’m also hoping to set up a website for the group and to get more support from businesses in the town.”
