There was hair, make-up and fashion from an extra-terrestrial avant-garde world for a competition at Whaplode Manor.

Level three hair dressing students, all from the hair, beauty and spa department at University Academy Holbeach Sixth Form, took part to gain their next qualifications.

Using their creativity, the students were asked to design an ‘image’ which was presented to a panel of judges. The look had to consist of hair style, make-up and accessories.

All from local hair and beauty salons, the judges board was made up of Frank Martino and Rick Denton from Crown Affair Hair and Beauty, Spalding, and Shelly Pearson, from Mishishi Hair and Beauty, Spalding.

Lucy Holmes, hairdressing instructor, said: “I am extremely proud of all the level three students. They worked extremely hard to meet the expectations with fantastic designs presented on the night.”

But it was Sophie Ellis who took top spot with her model Galaxica Goddess. Runner-up and third were Hollie Fuller and model Cosmogyral, and Sam Allen with model Cassini Davision.
