Youngsters at Rainbow Playgroup, Gosberton, got comfortable with their rural surroundings when a tractor and Billy the farm pony joined them for a day.

The visit was arranged by J & S Palmer of Surfleet and the children had a chance to sit in the tractor, helped up into the driver’s cab by some of the playgroup’s staff.

Jane Houghton, playgroup leader, said: “We’d taken the children to Hardys Animal Farm in Skegness where they were so excited and keen to see the animals.

“One of the parents asked if they could bring Billy and a tractor used on their farm to the playgroup and the day was very successful.

“All the children were given hats to wear which went down well with them.”
