Moulton Chapel Tuliptime is only going to be bigger and better based on the evidence of this year’s 36th event.

Scarecrow and flower festivals, live music from Die Apfeitizers Oompah Band and the Holbeach Town Band, along with dance routines from Polka Dot Academy, Spalding, and Endana School of Dance made Moulton Chapel one of the places to be on May Day Bank Holiday weekend.

The crowds also turned out for the annual parade led by Tuliptime queen Porsche Groom (12), prince Zachary Simpson (7) and princess Isla Cameron (6).

Jenny Stanberry, chairman of the Moulton Chapel Tuliptime Committee, said: “It went really well, it was really well-attended and there was more participation within the actual parade itself than we can ever remember before.

“There were more floats, more bands and more children’s groups which was commented on by the general public.

“The sun did shine and there was a good attendance, with more individual floats for which the workmanship was fantastic.

“We also had a Scarecrow Festival for the first time, with a theme of Imagination No Limitation, and there was nothing but praise from everyone.

“This year, there was no lack of helpers and suggestions for the strong, young Tuliptime committee we have which is always good news going forward.”

“Tuliptime went really well, it was really well-attended and there was more participation within the actual parade itself than we can ever remember before.
