A PAINTING by Rolf Harris which was bought from a Sutton Bridge charity auction has failed to reach its £30,000 reserve at auction.

The painting of Welsh singer Bonnie Tyler owned by King’s Lynn woman Cathy Sims, hit the headlines when it was valued at £50,000 by experts on the BBC’s Antiques Roadshow.

The painting was originally bought for Cathy by her father at the auction for just £50 in the 1970s.

The auction was held at Downham Market last week where the highest bid reached £26,000, some £4,000 below the reserve price.
