A new addition to Holbeach’s main shopping area has arrived with the opening of a new pop-up shop to promote arts and crafts.
The former Stradling Opticians at 12 West End has been turned into a centre for free activities, including drama workshops, iPad arts demonstrations and photo walks, as part of the two-year Transported arts project.
A similar pop-up shop is open in Boston and both premises will be serving customers until the end of August, with heritage tours, exhibitions and films also part of the line-up.
Mick Jones, Transported’s programme director, said: “It is clear that people in South Holland are beginning to get Transported and are starting to understand what it is and what it isn’t.
“The process has been a resounding success in terms of numbers, events and the vast amount of data that has been gathered.
“People are starting to appreciate that it has the potential to make some interesting and important things happen.”
The pop-up shop is open Wednesday to Saturday during August, from 9.30am until 3.30pm.
