People in South Holland can learn how to turn stained glass into works of art at two workshops in Spalding on Friday.

Gillian and David Wing from Strawberry Glass, based at Spalding’s Unique Cottage Studios, are the hosts of Make Your Own Sun Catcher and The Art of Stained Glass.

Both workshops take place at Spalding Library, Victoria Street, from 10am until 2pm and from 1.30pm until 3.30pm respectively.

They are part of Transported, a two-year project to encorage more people in South Holland to take up artistic and creative activities.

Brenda Bainbridge, director of South Holland Libraries, said: “We were extremely fortunate to collaborate with the Transported project team for events in libraries during 2013 and we are looking forward to working with the team again to offer exciting arts experiences within our library settings.”

There is also a workshop, Portrait of a Place, with artist Chris Lewis-Jones at Kirton Library on Tuesday March 25 between 2pm and 4pm.
