UPDATE TUESDAY 2.30PM: Castle Simming Pool in Spalding has reopened after work to reair a pump and electrical failure.

Managers of the pool, part of the town’s Castle Sports Complex, closed it temporarily while engineers carried out urgent maintenance work.

It is the second time this summer that managers have been forced to close the swimming pool temporarily after a “light fitting malfunction” at the end of July.

TUESDAY NOON: A popular swimming pool in Spalding is closed today because of a pump and electrical failure.

Swimmers are being turned away from Castle Swimming Pool off Pinchbeck Road while engineers try to resolve the problem.

A spokesman for 1Life Management Solutions, which runs the pool, said: “We have temporarily closed the pool to ensure the health and safety of our customers.

“We anticipate the pool re-opening soon.”
