Police in South Holland will be TV stars over the next two months, pulling in an audience of up to ten million viewers.

The Operation Galileo hare coursing team are among those appearing in Channel 5 hit series Police Interceptors as it follows crime fighting teams from across England and Wales.

The series starts on Monday at 8pm and for the next ten weeks, Lincolnshire Police’s Specialist Operations, Police Dogs and Roads Policing Units will all feature, along with the Operation Galileo team.

Supt Shaun West, head of specialist operations at Lincolnshire Police, said: “We have been working with the producers of Police Interceptors for over a year and the programmes feature our officers doing their jobs.

“I hope the programmes are a useful means of informing the public we serve of the type of incidents we face on a daily basis and highlight the difficulties our officers deal with while trying to keep Lincolnshire as one of the safest places in the country to live.”
