Artists, actors and musicians from South Holland can be part of a £2.6 million project to increase the number of creative activities in the area.

Transported Arts is holding three open days in Spalding, Moulton and Swineshead on Thursday for those interested in performing in the project’s Open Book, Creative Consultation and Live and Local programmes.

The open days are at Spalding Library, Victoria Street, from 10am until 11.30am, The Swan pub, High Street, Moulton, from noon until 2pm and The Wheatsheaf pub, Market Place, Swineshead, between 3pm and 5pm.

Nick Jones, programme director of Transported, said: “We are tremendously excited to move into the more substantial project development and delivery phase of Transported.

“We are going to be bringing local people together to make sure projects are appropriate to the area and, in some cases, taking people to see some of the best artists and arts projects in the country.”

Open Book will see artists putting on shows in libraries across South Holland, while Creative Consultation involves visiting and engaging with specific locations such as schools, village halls and churches.

Live and Local takes live performances to unusual places, including gardens, market areas, nature reserves and playgrounds.
