Youngsters looking for something to do in Holbeach can join a new youth group to be launched in the town next month.

The monthly group for 11 to 16-year-olds will be run by former teacher Carole Williams and starts with a design your own pizza night at the Reading Rooms, Church Street, Holbeach, on Friday January 10 2014 from 6.30pm until 8pm.

Carole said: “We started talking to people in the summer about starting a youth group and then we had a group of young people who were confirmed in the autumn at All Saints Church, Holbeach.

“So we thought this might be a good time to launch it and the first meeting is designed to get the youngsters involved, as well as finding out from them what they want to do.

“Children in Holbeach have lots of things happening for them at school and clubs, but this is an open night for them to see how we can help them.”

Rev Rosamund Seal, vicar of Holbeach, said: “We thought that we weren’t doing a great deal for our young people so we’ve been thinking about starting a youth group for a few months.

“We want to nurture them and provide a safe place where they can nurture each other.”
