Youngsters design and make their own pizzas at Holbeach Reading Rooms for the opening night of a new youth group in the town.

Holbeach Reading Rooms turned into an Italian pizza parlour when youngsters from the town met to launch a new youth group for them.

About 15 youngsters aged 10-15 came to the community building in Church Street on Friday to help christen the monthly Holbeach Youth Group with a design your own pizza night.

But the event also had a more serious purpose as youngsters were able to put forward ideas on how they can be active in their community through the youth group.

Carole Williams, youth group leader, said: “It was fun night with a very nice bunch of young people who were good company and really positive.

“We were looking for activities we could organise for their meeting and they came up with lots of ideas such as visits and community projects they would like to undertake.”

The youth group was formed after talks last autumn between Carole, youngsters and the Vicar of Holbeach, Rev Rosamund Seal who also came to the opening night.

She said: “About 15 young people came and they had a wonderfully creative time designing and naming their own pizzas, before having an even better time eating them.”

The youth group meets again at Holbeach Reading Rooms on February 14 and for more details, call Carole on 01406 423547.
