A dream for childhood friends Lucy Evenden and Anna Morris to have their own arts business has now moved onto another level.

That’s because pottery painting business Doodles, launched by Lucy of Pinchbeck and Anna of Spalding in May 2013, has a new home at Unique Cottage Studios in Fulney Lane, Spalding.

Lucy and Anna are now able to run pottery painting workshops for children and adults every Saturday from 10am until 4pm and in the school holidays.

Anna said: “It’s been a dream of ours to have a creative business together and in May of last year, we bit the bullet and started Doodles.

“We’ve been rushed off our feet ever since with lots of bookings for parties at people’s homes and working with the National Childbirth Trust to run painting workshops.

“But when people kept asking us where Doodles was based, Lucy and myself started looking around and we met Carolyn Goodwin who owns Unique Cottage Studios and she invited us to open a pottery painting studio there.”

The workshops, which started on Saturday, also mark an exciting new phase for the arts centre where a disused building has been replaced by a new coffee shop, exhibition area and new artists’ studios.

Anna said: “It’s taken a lot of time and hard work to get to this stage but it’s very exciting for Lucy and I and we’re both very happy.”
