A qualified nutrition and dietary expert from Market Deeping is also making the grade in the glamorous world of modelling and beauty contests.
Katherine-Elyse Blake (25) reached the finals of Miss Universe GB 2014 in Cardiff against 29 other women from England, Scotland and Wales.
The former Deepings School student dazzled judges in interviews, as well as in a white evening gown and Union Jack dress.
Katherine-Elyse said: “It was a really good experience and one of the best pageants I’ve done.
“Although there was a competitive element to it, all the girls got on really well and supported each other.
“At one stage, I didn’t think I’d be able to go on stage because I couldn’t get my dress on.
“But the other girls help me wriggle into it.”
The title was won by Katherine-Elyse’s friend, Grace Levy (24) of London, but the Deepings girl is determined to land one of the big three beauty titles, Miss GB, Miss World and Miss Universe.
Katherine-Elyse said: “I did my first pageant a couple of years ago after a friend suggested it and I didn’t really know what I was getting into.
“But I loved it and being so heavily involved in pageants, I see the good it does and the platform to better not only your own life but others too.”
Katherine-Elyse, who has a Jamaican dad and English/Italian mother has recently signed up to be a professional model whilst, at the same time, running her nutrition business Beautifully Nourished.
“Pageants have made me feel so confident, to believe in myself and to never be shy in doing anything,” Katherine-Elyse said.
