Spalding, Holbeach and Sutton Bridge have been chosen as sites for gypsies and travellers in South Holland.
South Holland District Council cabinet yesterday finally chose the three sites – two permanent and one temporary – after a two-hour meeting.
E-MAIL US YOUR VIEWPermanent sites were selected on land east of the A16 Spalding bypass at Spalding Marsh and West of Holbeach off the A151.
Land of Centenary Way, Wingland, Sutton Bridge, was chosen as a temporary site.
After the meeting council leader Gary Porter said the decision reached was "reasonable" and added that it had been arrived at after proper deliberation.
He said: "Some may think these are not the best sites in South Holland but at least the decision was a reasonable one."
Councillors had a shortlist of eight locations and the five to be ruled out were:
Lowgate/Eaudike Road, Quadring
North of A152 Surfleet (off Bendyke Lane)
East of A16 Spalding Bypass (Drain Bank)
Cranmore Lane, Holbeach
A1101, north of Tydd St Mary
